Is it expensive Amalfi? Have  I enough money ? How much do I  spend? In this article I will write exclusively about money, nothing else.  So I will try to illustrate what is the budget you neet to spend you vacations   in Amalfi.

The data are updated until 2020, so they will remain the same more o less even for the future in next years.  Keep in mind that the post concerns the budget for a holiday specifically in Amalfi (or in the town of Atrani), not in other town of the Amalfi coast. The clarification is not trivial: Praiano, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Scala, Minori, Maiori, Tramonti Cetara and Vietri sul Mare can be moderately cheaper. In contrast, Ravello and Positano have become even more expensive than Amalfi and Atrani.

I won’t care about  luxury holidays. My studies are aimed  to medium-level holidays, in particular for families with an normal budget who are looking for a decent 3/4 star or an apartment . That said, let’s move on to the bare and raw data.

The cost of a holiday in Amalfi essentially depends on the periods of the year in which you go: in August it will be maximum, in February it will be minimum.

So, assuming a week’s stay in Amalfi, we will have this average expense for two people (I simply take the above data and multiply them by the days of the week):

• Eating in Amalfi – budget vacations 

Assuming a dinner / lunch in restaurant each day day the total is:

– Restaurant 35 or 50 euros x 2 people x 7 days = around 490/700 euros per week for two people.

or

– Pizzeria 20 or 25 euros x 2 people x 7 days = about 280/350 euros per week for two people.

Expenses for sleeping in Amalfi – How much do holidays cost on the Amalfi coast ?
It is a calculation that I do only for the summer, the months of greatest turnout. For the other months, have the patience to do the calculations yourself: take the sum indicated for the 3-star, 4-star hotel or the holiday home and multiply everything by 7.

In June 910/1400 euros for a room in a 3-star hotel, 1750/3150 euros for a room in a 4-star hotel, 910/1260 for a holiday home;

In August for a double room in a 3-star hotel 1190/1750 euros, for a double room in a 4-star hotel 2100/3850, for a holiday home 980/1400 euros.
In September for a double room in a 3-star hotel 910/1470 euros, for a double room in a 4-star hotel 1820/3500, for a holiday home 910/1330 euros.

In conclusion, if mathematics is not an opinion (and fortunately it is not) and I have not made elementary  mistakes  the cost of one week holidays in Amalfi coast is:.

IN JUNE TWO PEOPLE ON HOLIDAYS IN AMALFI WILL SPEND BETWEEN A MINIMUM OF 1925 Euros (490 for restaurants + 105 for beaches + 420 various expenses + 910 for a hotel room) and A MAXIMUM OF 2735 Euros (700 for restaurants + 175 for beaches + 600 for various + 1260 for hotel);

IN JULY BETWEEN A MINIMUM OF 1925 (490 for restaurants + 105 for beaches + 420 various expenses + 910 for a hotel room) AND A MAXIMUM OF 4555 EURO (700 for restaurants + 175 for beaches + 600 for various + 910 for hotel or holiday home);

IN AUGUST BETWEEN A MINIMUM OF 1995 (490 for restaurants + 105 for beaches + 420 various expenses + 980 for holiday home) AND A MAXIMUM OF 6585 euros (700 for restaurants + 175 for beaches + 600 for various + 3850 for hotel room );

IN SEPTEMBER BETWEEN A MINIMUM OF 1925 (490 for restaurants + 105 for beaches + 420 various expenses + 910 for a hotel room) AND A MAXIMUM OF 4205 euros (700 for restaurants + 175 for beaches + 600 for various + 1470 per room hotel);

Is it possible to save more  money in Amalfi? Yes, absolutely yes! Mine are spending hypotheses precisely formulated on the basis of a holiday in which no leisure is deprived. Those who opt for a holiday home, for example, can use a kitchen, a dining room and of course organize themselves for shopping. So their vacations in Amalfi certainly are cheaper that I showed in my test..

Is it possible to spend more? Yes, absolutely yes, for this reason my ranges are wide, even though I wanted to indicate specific data (otherwise this article would have no sense).

I am quite sure that in a week in Amalfi on average you will spender  800/900 euros for person

In my projections I did not want to indicate the months of medium and low season: in January, February, March, April, May, October, November and December the prices in fact  are very cheap.

For me, spring as well as the months of October are a great time to visit Amalfi: you spend not so much, the weather is nice and sunny…there are not too many people like summer. From May onwards and until October you can swim safely.  I want to write about vacations in Amalfi  in a next artiicle.
