In this short article I will provide all the necessary information to get to Benidorm from Alicante and, in particular, to get from Alicante airport to Benidorm. The distance between the two cities is approximately 46 km.

The two main cities of the Costa Blanca are in fact connected in an excellent way both day and night, providing the possibility to choose different means of transport.

• From Alicante to Benidorm by car

The road is excellent and will take no more than 20 minutes.

• From the center of Alicante to Benidorm by tram.

The most comfortable way to get from Alicante to Benidorm is by tram. The terminus is in the station of   Luceros square in the center of Alicante (about 300 meters on foot from the train station), but it is also possible to take it in front of the central market (Alfonso el Sabio) and near the seafront (plaza del Mar). The journey takes 72 minutes and includes 28 stops. The cost of the ticket: to go to Benidorm in Alicante the fare is 3.75 euros, but with the return ticket  you save 1 euro. Discounts are available for groups, retirees, as well as coupons for multiple trips. In summer, those arriving in Alicante by train (AVE) can go by  tram for free. Tickets can be purchased both inside the stations and inside the wagons. Timetables: the first train leaves at 5.40 am, the last at 21.40 (check for variations). The frequency is every 30 minutes

• By bus from Alicante to Benidorm

From Alicante to Benidorm there are excellent connections from the Alsa transport company. Buses travel all day and night and leave from the Alicante bus station which is located in Muelle de Poniente street.  The price of the ticket  is 4.80 / 7 euros.

• By taxi from Alicante to Benidorm

The price of taxi from Alicante to Benidorm is between 67 and 90 euros. This rate also applies to a 7-person car (minivan)

• How to go from Alicante airport to Benidorm

Alicante airport is currently the sixth largest airport in Spain and is the gateway to the Costa Blanca. Alicante airport is located 9 kilometers south-west of the capital in the municipality of Elche.

To go from Alicante airport to Benidorm there are basically two ways:

a) take the bus from Alicante airport to the center of Alicante and then opt for the tram or another bus as described above;
